Li Weixin The results of the inyestigation are as follows: 1.Sporelings exist all the year round;but the most luxuriant time appears in April;May and June when the water temperatare is 25-29℃. The vegetative growth of spprelings almost stops in July-September when the water temperature ia 30-35℃. However;the plantlets in dormancy begin to grow once again in October and become gametophytes and sporophytes in. November when the water temperature is 25-29℃. They grow vigorously throughout the winter and attain the most growth in next spring when;the average growth rate of the generative thalli is 0.5-0.7 cm per day. 2. Spring is the generative season for gametophytes and sporophytes when the water temperature is 22-30℃. They fade away in the hottest months from July to September when the water temperature is 30-35℃.
